About
A reading tool, not a chatbot
SimplRead exists for people who want to finish long pages — without fighting a wall of text, endless scroll, or a cluttered layout.
Why we built it
Many of us can understand complex ideas just fine, yet still abandon articles halfway through. Dense paragraphs, tiny type, ads in the margins, and no clear stopping points make reading feel like work. That experience is especially hard if you have dyslexia, ADHD, or simply a tired brain at the end of the day.
SimplRead does one job: take a long piece of writing, pull out the main story, rewrite it in plain language, and present it as short slides you move through at your own pace. It is not a news site, not a social feed, and not an AI chat box. It is a calm reader you open when you already have something you want to read.
Who it is for
We designed SimplRead with dyslexic and ADHD readers in mind — larger type options, more spacing, optional bionic-style emphasis, and a slide-by-slide rhythm that reduces the urge to skim and lose the thread. Plenty of people without a diagnosis use it too: students, professionals catching up on research, anyone who prefers short chunks over long scrolls.
We do not claim to diagnose, treat, or cure any condition. SimplRead is an accessibility-minded reading aid. If you need clinical support, talk to a qualified professional.
How we think about privacy
You can simplify articles with SimplRead’s hosted tokens, or bring your own API key (BYOK) from OpenAI, Anthropic, and other providers. With BYOK, your key is stored encrypted on our servers and used only to call your provider when you ask for a simplification. You stay in control of provider costs and which model you use.
Your reading history (titles, sources, and slides) stays in your account so you can reopen articles later. We publish a clear Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. Questions: privacy@simplread.com.
Where you can use it
SimplRead works in the web app, as a Chrome extension, and on Android and iOS. Same account, same history, same slide reader.
Honest about ads and pricing
The free hosted plan includes a small monthly allowance and shows ads in the reader to help cover hosting and development. You can top up credits for ad-free hosted reading, or use your own API key for unlimited simplifications at your provider’s rates. There is no subscription. Details live on the pricing section and in the FAQ.
